How to Host a Satisfactory Server (Quick Start Guide)

To host a Satisfactory server that keeps your factory available without your PC, pick a plan on GamezServers, pay, and your server is live in about 60 seconds with its own address. You add that address in the game's Server Manager, claim the server with a name and admin password, then start a new game or upload your existing save. This guide covers every step, including the settings that keep production running when nobody is online.

Step 1: Pick the right plan

Satisfactory servers need more memory than the player count suggests, because the whole factory is simulated whether anyone is near it or not. Pick your plan by factory size first, players second.

Step 2: Split the cost with your team (optional)

Choose Split with friends at checkout to share the bill between 2 and 10 people. Each person pays their own share by card, with a 1 USD payment fee per share. On the 12 GB plan split three ways, that is roughly 11 USD each.

You pay your share and the server starts straight away, without waiting on anyone. Each friend gets a payment link to use whenever they are ready, and every share that comes in keeps the server running longer.

Step 3: Pay and find your server

Name the server at checkout so you can spot it on your dashboard, sign in or create an account on the same page, and pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Billing is monthly with no contract, and you can cancel any time from the dashboard. See billing and cancellation.

After payment, your server appears under Your servers as Setting up, then Online. Open it to reach the control panel. The address at the top looks like 203.0.113.10:7777. Click it to copy. The control panel guide explains every tab.

Step 4: Claim the server in Server Manager

Satisfactory is set up from inside the game, not from a config file. The owner should do this before sharing the address, because the first person to connect claims the server.

Launch Satisfactory and click Server Manager on the main menu.
Click Add Server. Put the IP (the part before the colon) in the address box and 7777 in the port box, then confirm.
The server shows up as unclaimed. Click it and claim it by giving it a server name and an admin password.
Save that admin password somewhere safe. It controls every server setting.
Optionally, open the server settings and set a player password, so only people you share it with can join.

Step 5: Start a new game or upload your save

In Server Manager, select your server and pick one:

Create Game: choose a session name and a starting location for a fresh world.
Manage Saves: click upload, choose a save from your own game, then load it. Your whole factory moves onto the server.

Step 6: How your team joins

Launch Satisfactory and open Server Manager from the main menu.
Click Add Server, enter the server IP and port 7777, and confirm.
Enter the player password if you set one.
Select the server and click Join Game.

Steam and Epic players can play on the same server, as long as everyone is on the same game version. If someone cannot connect, see Satisfactory server can't connect.

Step 7: Keep the factory running

Two settings decide whether your factory keeps producing while everyone is offline:

Auto Pause in the in game server settings pauses the simulation when nobody is connected. Turn it off if you want production to carry on.
Sleep when empty in our panel stops the server after 90 minutes with nobody online, to save it running for no one. Your save is kept and one press of Start brings it back. If you want the factory producing overnight, turn it off in Settings.

In the same in game server settings, you can set how often the server autosaves. Frequent autosaves make rolling back after a bad blueprint much less painful.

Step 8: Add mods (optional)

Satisfactory mods use the Satisfactory Mod Loader and are installed with Satisfactory Mod Manager from ficsit.app. Its Manage Servers option can install mods straight onto a dedicated server over SFTP. Get your SFTP login from Settings in the control panel and add it in the mod manager.

Step 9: Backups, updates and upgrades

Backups: press Backup before big changes, such as installing mods, loading a different save or after a game update. Each server keeps 3 backups.
Updates: after a Satisfactory patch, restart the server so it runs the new version, and have everyone update the game.
Upgrading: if the factory starts to lag or the server runs out of memory, move to a bigger plan in Settings. The price is prorated, the new RAM applies after a restart, and the same save carries on.
