Before you play
Every player adds one free mod before joining
Schedule I has no official dedicated servers, so yours runs the free S1DedicatedServers mod. Each player installs the matching client mod once. It takes about two minutes, and single player and normal co-op keep working. We set up everything on the server side.
- 1
Download MelonLoader and the S1DS client mod. Both are free and open source.
- 2
In Steam, right click Schedule I and choose Manage, then Browse local files. This opens the folder with Schedule I.exe in it.
- 3
Extract both zip files into that folder, and choose to merge or replace if Windows asks. You should now see a MelonLoader folder and a Mods folder next to Schedule I.exe.
- 4
Start Schedule I from Steam. The first launch takes a few extra minutes while MelonLoader sets itself up, so let it finish.
- 5
On the main menu click Servers, then Direct Connect. Type the part of the server address before the colon as the IP, and the number after it as the Port.

How to join your Schedule I server
- 1
Install MelonLoader and the S1DS client mod first. The steps and download links are at the top of this guide, and you only do it once.
- 2
Start Schedule I from Steam and wait for the main menu.
- 3
Click Servers, then Direct Connect.
- 4
Enter the IP and the Port from the server address, and connect. Steam signs you in automatically.
Common problems
No Servers button on the main menu
The mod is not loading. Make sure both zips were extracted into the folder that contains Schedule I.exe, so MelonLoader and Mods sit right next to it, not inside another folder.
Stuck on a black screen the first time
That is MelonLoader setting itself up after install or after a game update. It can take a few minutes. Leave it running.
Could not join after a game update
The game, the client mod and the server must all be on matching versions. Download the client mod again from the link above, and ask the owner to press Update game in their panel.
Game crashes on start after installing
Use the MelonLoader download link above rather than an older copy. MelonLoader 0.7.1 is known to break this mod.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 90 minutes with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Mods and plugins
Modding your Schedule I server
Your server runs MelonLoader with the S1DedicatedServers mod, the open source dedicated server project for Schedule I. Other MelonLoader mods can go in the server's Mods folder, and companion mods built for S1DS work on the server and in each player's game.
About
Schedule I server hosting, explained
Schedule I is a crime business simulator from TVGS, released in early access on Steam on 24 March 2025. You start as a small time dealer in Hyland Point and grow into a kingpin, with properties, employees, suppliers and a police force that keeps getting more interested in you. Co-op supports up to 4 players, but the world only exists while the host has the game open, so the rest of the crew waits whenever the host is offline.
There is no official Schedule 1 dedicated server. Instead, the community project S1DedicatedServers by ifBars runs the full game headless as a server, with saves, admin commands, permissions and Steam sign in for every player. Running it yourself means copying the game to a machine that stays on, installing MelonLoader and the server mod, writing a config file, opening UDP and TCP ports, and on Linux adding Wine. We do all of that at install, and your panel handles starts, restarts, backups and updates.
Because the server runs the whole game, it needs more memory than most: the mod's own docs report around 3 GB in use on an idle server, before anyone joins. Our plans start at 6 GB for a group of four, which leaves room for a busy map, and every player joins with the free client mod linked on this page.

FAQ
Questions, answered
Does Schedule 1 have dedicated servers?
Not officially. Your server runs S1DedicatedServers, a free open source mod that turns the game into a dedicated server. We install and update it for you.
Do my friends need to install anything?
Yes, once: MelonLoader and the S1DS client mod, which are two free zip files you extract into the game folder. The steps and links are at the top of this page and on your server's invite page.
How many players can join?
Up to 4 on Starter, 8 on Standard and 16 on Pro. Normal co-op is limited to 4 players.
Do my friends need to own the game?
Yes. Every player signs in through Steam when they join, so each person needs their own copy of Schedule I on Steam.
What happens when Schedule I updates?
Game updates can break the mod until it catches up. Press Update game in your panel to pull the newest game and server mod, and have each player download the client mod again from the same link.
Can I move my single player or co-op save to the server?
Yes. Start the server once, stop it, then upload your save into UserData/DedicatedServerSave with the file manager, keeping the server's own Players/Player_0 folder. Our guide walks through it step by step.
Does it work on Mac or console?
No. Schedule I is a Windows game on Steam, and the client mod needs the Windows version.
Are your servers protected from DDoS attacks?
Yes. Every server on every plan sits behind always on DDoS protection at no extra cost, so attacks and booters do not knock your group offline.
When can I get help?
Any time. Support is 24/7, and the people answering run game servers every day. Email support@gamezservers.com whenever you need us.
Will my server lag?
Our servers run on fast game hardware on low latency networks for smooth, low ping play. If your group grows or adds heavy mods, upgrade in one click and keep your world.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
