Schedule 1 server hosting on GamezServers takes a few minutes: pick a plan, pay, and we install the game, MelonLoader and the S1DedicatedServers mod for you. Your Hyland Point world then stays online when you log off, and more than 4 players can join. Each friend installs one free client mod once, and your server's invite link walks them through it. This guide covers Schedule 1 dedicated server hosting from choosing a plan to your friends joining.
How Schedule 1 dedicated servers work
Schedule I has no official dedicated server. Normal co-op holds up to 4 players, and the world only exists while the host has the game open. The fix is S1DedicatedServers (S1DS), a free, open source mod by ifBars that runs the full game headless as an authoritative server.
Two things follow from that:
- The server runs the whole game. It needs far more memory than a typical server, which is why our plans start at 6 GB.
- Every player needs the S1DS client mod. It is two zip files extracted into the game folder, done once. The client mod can stay installed for single player and normal co-op.
Everyone must own Schedule I on Steam. The server checks each player through Steam when they join, so every player needs their own copy.
Step 1: Pick the right plan
| Plan | RAM | vCPU | Players | Price per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 6 GB | 3 | Up to 4 | 14.99 USD |
| Standard | 8 GB | 4 | Up to 8 | 19.99 USD |
| Pro | 12 GB | 4 | Up to 16 | 29.99 USD |
The mod's own docs observed about 3 GB of RAM in use and around 72% of 2 vCPUs on an idle server with 0 to 1 players. Add players, employees, several properties and save spikes on top of that and you can see why 6 GB is the sensible floor.
- Starter fits the classic group of four who want the world online when the host is not.
- Standard is the most popular pick, for a bigger crew or a late game world with lots of properties running.
- Pro is for community servers of up to 16 players.
New customers get 50% off the first month. Yearly billing costs 10 months, so 2 are free. You can move up a plan later in Settings without losing anything. More on sizing in how much RAM a game server needs.
Step 2: Split the cost with friends (optional)
At checkout choose Split with friends and pick from 2 to 10 people. Each person pays their own share by card, plus a 1 USD fee per share. A Standard server split four ways comes to about 5 USD each per month plus the fee.
- You pay your share and the server starts straight away.
- Each friend gets their own payment link and pays when ready.
- Friends who make an account with the email they paid with see the server in their own dashboard, with the console, actions and files.

Step 3: Pay and let it install
Name the server, sign in or create an account on the same page, and pay. Monthly billing has no contract, and you can cancel from the dashboard any time. The getting started doc covers each checkout step.
Behind the scenes we install Schedule I, MelonLoader, S1DedicatedServers, Wine and the Windows runtimes the game needs, then set the ports and config. There is nothing to port forward. The very first boot takes a few minutes, because the server installs its runtimes and MelonLoader generates its files on first start. Later restarts are much quicker.
While it installs, your server page already shows the player setup steps with download buttons, so you can get your own game ready in the meantime. The order email and the "server is live" email include the same steps.
Step 4: Choose Normal version or Mono version
Your server has a type, set in Settings:
| Type | Runtime | Use it when |
|---|---|---|
| Normal version | IL2CPP, the normal Steam version | Almost always. Friends install one mod and play |
| Mono version | The Steam beta branch called "alternate" | Only when a mod you want needs Mono |
TVGS describes the alternate branch as identical to the normal game except that it uses Mono instead of IL2CPP. The server and every player must use the same runtime. On a Mono version server, every player has to switch Schedule I to the alternate beta in Steam and install the Mono client mod instead. If you switch type later, the server reinstalls and your world is backed up first.
Stay on the Normal version unless you have a specific reason not to.
Step 5: Send your friends the invite link
Every server has an invite link, a public join page at /join/<code>. It shows:
- the server address, with a copy button
- whether the server is online right now
- the player setup steps with the download links
- join help for the common problems
Paste that link in your group chat and you are done. Each friend follows the steps once, about two minutes of work plus the first launch.
Step 6: How players join
The short version of what your friends do:
- Download MelonLoader and the S1DS client mod from the invite page.
- In Steam, right click Schedule I, choose Manage, then Browse local files.
- Extract both zips into that folder, next to
Schedule I.exe. - Start Schedule I from Steam and let the first launch finish. It takes a few extra minutes.
- On the main menu click Servers, then Direct Connect.
- Your address looks like
203.0.113.10:25600. Type203.0.113.10in the IP field and25600in the Port field, then connect.
The full walkthrough, with the Mono variant and every install problem, is in how to join a Schedule 1 dedicated server. If someone gets stuck, send them Schedule 1 can't connect to dedicated server.
Step 7: First things to set up
Make yourself an operator
Join the server once so it knows you, then press Make operator in the panel and enter your in game name. That runs op <player> in the console and gives you the operator group, which can use every admin command. The full list is in Schedule 1 dedicated server commands.
Keep the server to your group
Every player signs in through Steam when they join, so only people who own Schedule I can connect. S1DedicatedServers v1.1.0 has a serverPassword setting, but it only marks the server as password protected in listings: the client has no box to type a password and the server does not check it, so it is not a way to keep people out yet. Keep your address inside your group, leave public listing off (it is off by default), and use Kick player or ban <player> if someone unwanted gets in. Max players is set by your plan.
The one click buttons
The panel has buttons for the commands you will use most:
| Button | Command it runs |
|---|---|
| Save world | save |
| Players online | listplayers |
| Server info | serverinfo |
| Set morning | settime 0700 |
| Make operator | op <player> |
| Kick player | kick <player> |
You can add up to 12 custom buttons of your own, and the Console tab accepts any command. See the control panel doc for the rest.
Bring your existing world
Your single player or co-op save can move to the server with the Files tab. There is one rule that matters: keep the server's own Players/Player_0 folder. Step by step in how to transfer a Schedule 1 save to a dedicated server.
Updates, backups and Sleep
- Game updates: Schedule I and the mod update often, and the server, the client mod and every player's game must match. After a Schedule I update on Steam, press Update game in Settings. It reinstalls the newest game and newest server mod, and your world is backed up first and kept. Then every player downloads the client mod again from the same link.
- Pinning versions: Settings has fields for the server mod version and the MelonLoader version, which apply on the next update. Leave them on latest unless you need an older release. Never use MelonLoader 0.7.1, it is known to break the mod.
- Backups: press Backup before big changes. 3 backups are kept.
- Sleep when empty: the server stops after 90 minutes with nobody online, and anyone with access starts it again in one click. Turn it off in Settings if you want it running all the time.
- More players: Schedule 1 co-op stops at 4. For bigger groups, see Schedule 1 multiplayer with more than 4 players.
