What comes set up on a American Truck Simulator server
Convoy for up to 8
The session SCS supports holds 8 drivers, all taking jobs on the same map and meeting at the same truck stops.
Same search ID every time
We make the Steam server token for you, so the session keeps a fixed search ID instead of a new one after each restart.
Your map DLC and mods
Export server packages from your own game and upload them, so the server runs the states and mods your group drives.
Drop in, drop out
The convoy stays open when the organizer goes to bed, so early risers and night owls can still run loads together.

How to join your American Truck Simulator server
- 1
Start American Truck Simulator and load the profile you want to drive with.
- 2
Choose Convoy from the main menu and open the list of sessions.
- 3
Search for your lobby name, or enter the server's search ID from the console in your panel.
- 4
Check your active DLC and mods match the server, then join and pick up a job.
Common problems
Drivers who cannot join usually have different DLC or mods active. Everyone needs the same map DLC and mods as the server packages you uploaded.
After an ATS update the server and every player must be on the same game version. Restart the server so it updates before anyone tries to join.
Session list slow to show the server? Search for it by its search ID, which is printed in the server console when it starts.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Modding your American Truck Simulator server
Groups run map expansions and truck mods from Steam Workshop and the SCS forums, exported as server packages from a host's game. Everyone who joins needs the same set active.
American Truck Simulator server hosting, explained
American Truck Simulator's Convoy mode puts a group of drivers on the same map, taking jobs and running routes across the western states together. Most groups use it the same way: a few friends haul the same load, chat on the CB and laugh when somebody misses an exit outside Phoenix. There is no combat and no race to win. It is a shared drive, and the dedicated server is the truck stop everybody meets at.
Without a dedicated server, the convoy only lives while one player hosts from their game. Virtual trucking companies and friend groups rent a server so drivers can join on their own schedule, run weekly convoys on a fixed route, or keep a session open all week for whoever is online. We create the Steam server token when your server is set up, so the session keeps the same search ID after every restart.
Map DLC and mods are not installed on the server directly. You load the content you want in your own game, export it as server packages with the export_server_packages console command, and upload those two files with the file manager or SFTP. The server_config.sii file holds the lobby name, password, player limit and other session options, and you can edit it in the file manager. Every driver who joins needs the same DLC and mods active.
The convoy server is light. A small group on base content runs on 2 GB, and 4 GB covers a full convoy of 8 with map DLC packages loaded. If your group runs big map mod combos or traffic density mods, 8 GB gives you room. SCS supports 8 players per session, so memory rarely becomes the limit. If you outgrow a plan, you can change it at any time from the panel.

Common questions
How many drivers can join an ATS convoy server?
SCS supports up to 8 players per session. Some groups edit the files to raise it, but that is unsupported and can cause problems.
Do I need to make a Steam server token?
No. We create the token for your server during setup, which keeps its search ID the same across restarts.
Can I use map DLC and mods on the server?
Yes. Export server packages from your own game with the DLC and mods you want, then upload those files to the server. Drivers need the same content active to join.
How do I set a password or change the lobby name?
The lobby name is a setting in the panel. The password and other session options are in server_config.sii, which you edit in the file manager before restarting.
Do players need to own the game?
Yes, every driver needs American Truck Simulator on Steam, plus any DLC the server packages use.
Can Euro Truck Simulator 2 players join?
No. ATS and ETS2 are separate games with separate servers, so each needs its own convoy server.
Why does my convoy server not appear in the list?
Search for it by the search ID shown in the console. A version mismatch after an update also hides servers, so restart the server once the patch is out.
Is GamezServers affiliated with American Truck Simulator?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated American Truck Simulator server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
