Stormforge enters early access on Steam on 10 November 2026. Roboto Games announced the date in a Steam news post on 17 September 2026. Before launch, a closed beta playtest runs from 7 to 30 October, and a demo update on 7 October resets existing demo saves once, after which demo progress carries over to early access.
When does Stormforge come out?
Stormforge launches in early access on 10 November 2026, on Steam for Windows PC. Roboto Games wrote: "Early Access will launch here on Steam on November 10th 2026!" and promised more detail on launch content and an early access roadmap "in the coming weeks". The studio expects early access to last about a year, depending on player feedback.

Why are Stormforge demo saves being wiped on 7 October?
On 30 September, Roboto Games announced a demo update for Wednesday 7 October at 1pm PT that changes the save format. In their words, it "will be breaking existing characters and worlds." The reason is cloud saving, which needed a new save format.
The good news comes with it:
- After this update, "your demo saves will transfer to the Early Access version of the game."
- The studio is "not planning on making any other breaking changes to the save format in the future."
- World generation will still change between the demo and early access, and during early access. Changes will not break existing worlds, but only undiscovered areas update. To see everything new in areas you have already explored, you need a new world.
If you plan to keep a demo world going into early access, start it after 7 October.

What is in Stormforge early access?
The closed beta covers early access content that is not in the demo, which gives the clearest picture of launch so far:
- A third biome, the Ember Canyons, with a new storm, new enemies, new equipment and a new boss, The Guardian.
- The first two biomes, including the Earthbreaker boss fight in the Howling Woods.
- A hurricane like chaos storm that moves across the map.
- 5 character classes with skill trees.
- New build mode pieces.
- Multiplayer for up to 8 players.
The demo itself keeps improving too. September updates added object moving in build mode, inventory and chest sorting, bow headshots, gliding changes and, in the 11 September build, "Significantly reduced RAM usage".
Does Stormforge have dedicated servers at launch?
Not confirmed yet. Roboto Games has said Stormforge will support self hosted servers that players reach over LAN or through a relay, and that the game can be played fully offline. None of the September and October announcements included a dedicated server download, its ports, config files or system needs. Multiplayer in the demo currently works through Steam invites, added on 16 September.
The early access roadmap Roboto Games promised in the 17 September post is the most likely place for server details. Until then, our Stormforge dedicated servers page separates what is confirmed from what is not, and Stormforge multiplayer explains how co-op works today.
What this means for your server
- No server to set up yet. There is no official dedicated server tool to download, so any "Stormforge server" offered today is a guess.
- Plan for 8 players. The 8 player cap is confirmed again in the playtest notes, so small group worlds are the target, not big public servers.
- Start fresh after 7 October. A demo world created after the update can carry into early access, which makes it a sensible test world for your group.
- Expect frequent patches. The demo got at least nine updates in September alone. Early access servers will need updating often, and the server version will likely need to match players' game version.
- Hardware is still unknown. Check Stormforge system requirements for the PC specs published so far.
Stormforge servers on GamezServers
We are preparing Stormforge servers and will open them once the official server tools are out and we have tested them, rather than guessing at a setup. Our planned plans are 6 GB for up to 4 players, 8 GB for a full crew of 8, and 12 GB for 8 players in a big, well explored world, and we will adjust them after testing.
