Stormforge System Requirements: PC and Server Specs (2026)

The Stormforge system requirements on Steam ask for Windows 10 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-7500 or Ryzen 5 1600 and a GTX 1060 or RX 580 at minimum, with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT recommended. The game needs 5 GB of storage and DirectX 11. Official server requirements have not been published yet, and this page explains what the PC specs mean for whoever hosts your crew.

Stormforge PC requirements

From the Steam store page, ahead of early access on 10 November 2026:

The graphics and CPU requirements are moderate for a 2026 survival game. The memory is the standout: 16 GB is the floor and 32 GB is recommended, which is more than many games in the genre ask for.

Can my PC run Stormforge?

The easiest check is the free demo on Steam, which includes the first two biomes, one boss fight and three classes in a 24 square kilometer procedurally generated world. If the demo runs well, early access should too, although the full game adds more biomes and content that may be heavier.

Some quick tips if it struggles:

• Close background apps. With a 16 GB minimum, a browser with many tabs open can push you over.
• Install on an SSD. At 5 GB it fits almost anywhere, and open world games load terrain faster from an SSD.
• Update your graphics drivers before launch day.

Is Stormforge on Mac, Linux or Steam Deck?

Stormforge is launching on Windows PC via Steam. The Steam page lists Windows only and does not list a Steam Deck rating. No Mac, Linux or console versions have been announced.

What the requirements mean for hosting co-op

If one friend hosts the world from their own PC, that PC runs the game for them and handles the world for everyone else at the same time. With a 16 GB minimum just to play, the host is the one most likely to run short on memory, especially with a full crew of 8 exploring in different directions.

Signs your host PC is struggling:

• Everyone lags or rubber bands at the same moments, even with good internet.
• The host's own frame rate drops when players spread out.
• The game stutters when new areas load.

The fix is either a stronger host PC or moving the world to a separate server, so the host's PC only has to run their own game.

What will a Stormforge server need?

Roboto Games has confirmed self-hosted servers, but has not published server requirements. Until it does, any exact numbers are guesses. Our working estimates, based on similar survival games with 8 player worlds, are:

A server does not need a graphics card, so these are far below the PC requirements. Procedurally generated worlds tend to use more memory as players uncover more of the map, which is why the last row exists. We will update this page once the real server can be tested. What else is unknown: whether the server runs on Linux, which ports it needs and whether it can take direct connections or only relay and LAN connections. We track all of it in Stormforge dedicated servers.
