Satisfactory Server Hosting Cost: Early Game to Megabase (2026)

What a Satisfactory dedicated server costs per month as your factory grows, the cost of a full playthrough, per pioneer prices, and the free hosting options.

On this page

A Satisfactory dedicated server costs about 20 to 40 USD a month hosted: 8 GB (19.99 USD) carries a new or mid game save for up to 4 players, 12 GB (29.99 USD) a late game factory, and 16 GB (39.99 USD) a megabase, heavy mods or 8 or more players. Unlike most games, the cost is driven by how big your factory gets, not by how many people play. Many groups start on 8 GB and move up as the factory grows, so the cheapest plan is the one that matches the phase you are in.

Here is what each stage needs, what a whole playthrough costs, and how the free options compare.

Why factory size, not players, sets the price

A Satisfactory server simulates every machine, belt, pipe, train and drone in your save, all the time, whether anyone is standing near them or not. A fresh save with a few constructors is light. A save in the later phases with thousands of machines, belts across the map and dozens of trains is heavy in both memory and CPU. Adding a fourth player barely moves the needle compared to adding a new aluminum line.

That means two groups of four can need very different plans. Our Satisfactory dedicated server requirements guide has the hardware side.

Monthly cost by stage

Stage of your save Plan Monthly price
New or mid game save, up to 4 players 8 GB 19.99 USD
Late game factory, 4 to 8 players 12 GB 29.99 USD
Megabase, heavy mods or 8 players and up 16 GB 39.99 USD

New customers get 50% off the first month, which suits the early game, when the server is lightest anyway.

What a full playthrough costs

Groups usually play Satisfactory in bursts: a few intense months from the first HUB to Project Assembly, then a break. A realistic plan that grows with the factory:

Months Phase Plan Cost
1 to 2 Early tiers, first factories 8 GB about 30 USD (first month half price)
3 to 4 Mid tiers, oil, trains 8 GB about 40 USD
5 to 6 Late tiers, big production lines 12 GB about 60 USD
Total about 130 USD

Split between 4 pioneers, that is around 33 USD each for the whole playthrough, before the split fee. You only pay for the bigger plan once you need it, and on a host with prorated plan changes the upgrade mid month costs only the difference for the days left.

Cost per pioneer

On a GamezServers split bill, each person pays an even share plus a 1 USD fee per share:

Plan 2 players 3 players 4 players
8 GB (19.99) about 11.00 each about 7.66 each about 6.00 each
12 GB (29.99) about 16.00 each about 11.00 each about 8.50 each
16 GB (39.99) about 21.00 each about 14.33 each about 11.00 each

The free options

Co-op hosting from the game

One player hosts a session from their game and friends join through the Friends list. It is free, but the factory only runs while the host is playing, and the host's PC does all the simulation work on top of rendering. Late game, that hurts frame rates. Our guide on how to play Satisfactory with friends compares it to a server.

Run the dedicated server yourself

The Satisfactory dedicated server is free on Steam and Epic. You need a machine that can hold your late game factory in memory, a stable connection, and port forwarding for UDP and TCP 7777 plus TCP 8888. Then updates after every patch, and backups of the save. See how to host a Satisfactory server for free for the full steps and its limits.

The auto pause setting and your bill

The dedicated server can pause the factory when nobody is connected. That is good for the game: your power plants do not run dry while you sleep. It does not change hosting costs, though, because the server still needs the memory for the save. Pick a plan for your factory's size, not for how often people play.

Ways to keep costs down

  1. Start on 8 GB. Upgrade when the server starts to stutter or memory fills up, usually in the later phases.
  2. Keep mods to what you use. Mods from ficsit.app add to memory, and big content mods add the most. See how to install mods on a Satisfactory server.
  3. Tidy up old factory sections. Deleting abandoned early lines reduces what the server simulates.
  4. Take a break cleanly. Between playthroughs, download your save and cancel rather than paying for months of nobody. Our guide on pausing a game server to save money covers it.

A Satisfactory server on GamezServers

GamezServers Satisfactory servers come in 8, 12 and 16 GB, live in about a minute after paying, with their own address so nobody forwards ports. Upload your co-op save with the file manager or SFTP, claim the server in game and set the admin password, then keep building whether or not the host is online. One click backups protect a factory you have spent weeks on, and you can change plans from the panel as the factory grows, paying only the prorated difference. Split the bill with up to 10 friends who each pay their own share.
