What comes set up on a Nazi Zombies: Portable server
Four player co-op
Hold out together on Nacht der Untoten or another map, buying wall guns, opening doors and fighting over the Mystery Box.
Desktop or browser clients
Set the protocol to NZP-REBOOT for the PC and Linux builds, or NZP-REBOOT-WEB for players on the web version.
Tickrate and cvars
Tune sv_mintic with the Tickrate setting and pass any other +cvar value in Additional Game Arguments.
Ready when the group is
No one has to port forward or keep a PC on. The server sits there until your squad wants another run.

How to join your Nazi Zombies: Portable server
- 1
Download the latest PC or Linux build from the NZ:P releases page and launch it.
- 2
Open the console with the tilde key under Escape.
- 3
Type
connectand press Enter.203.0.113.24
Common problems
Can't connect? Everyone, server included, should be on the latest nightly build. Reinstall the server after a new release.
Web players need the protocol set to NZP-REBOOT-WEB and connect with connect ws://. Desktop players can't join that server at the same time.203.0.113.24
Open the console with the key under Escape (tilde or backtick). If nothing happens, check your keyboard layout.
Type listmaps in the server console to see which maps are installed before you change the Map setting.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Nazi Zombies: Portable server hosting, explained
Nazi Zombies: Portable is a free, open source de-make of the classic Call of Duty: World at War zombies mode, with a few Black Ops touches. It started on the PSP in 2009 and now runs on Windows, Linux, Switch, 3DS, Vita and in the browser. Four players hold out against rounds of zombies, buying weapons off the walls, opening doors, grabbing perks and gambling on the Mystery Box. It looks like a Quake mod because it is one, and that is half the charm.
On PC and Linux, co-op runs through a dedicated server. Having one online means your group can jump in for a few rounds whenever they like, without someone fiddling with port forwarding first. It is a small, friendly community project, so most people who play online do it with friends, LAN style, rather than with strangers in a server browser.
The panel exposes the settings the server actually reads: the network protocol for desktop or web clients, the tickrate, the starting map and any extra +cvar arguments. Custom maps go up through the file manager or SFTP into the nzp folder. The live console shows who is connected, and a restart takes a few seconds if a run goes sideways.
This is about as light as game servers get. Four players on a zombie map barely touch a gigabyte of memory, so the 1 GB plan covers the stock maps. Step to 2 GB if you keep it running all the time with a few custom maps, and 4 GB only if you load lots of large custom maps. It is a cheap server to leave running.

Common questions
How many players can join a Nazi Zombies: Portable server?
Four. The game is built around four player co-op, the same as the mode it recreates.
How do I connect to the server?
Open the console with the tilde key under Escape and type connect followed by the server address. Make sure everyone is on the latest build.
Do players need to buy anything?
No. Nazi Zombies: Portable is free and open source. It is a fan project with no connection to the publishers of the series it is inspired by.
Can browser players join?
Yes, if you set the Protocol to NZP-REBOOT-WEB. They connect with connect ws:// followed by the address, from the HTTP version of the web build.
Can desktop and web players play together?
Not on the same server. The protocol setting picks one or the other, so choose the one your group uses.
What does the tickrate setting do?
It sets how often the server updates the game, in seconds per tick. The default 0.045 is about 22 ticks a second and suits most groups.
Can I add custom maps?
Yes. Upload the map files into the nzp folder with the file manager or SFTP, then set the Map setting to the map name.
Which map does it start on?
Nacht der Untoten, map name ndu. Change the Map setting to start somewhere else.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Nazi Zombies: Portable?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Nazi Zombies: Portable server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
