A QBCore city, deployed from txAdmin

Jobs, garages, a phone, police and EMS on the first boot.

Pick the txAdmin server type, open txAdmin from your panel and choose the QBCore recipe. It downloads the framework and around 60 qb resources, and your database details are filled in before you click a thing.

QBCore without the setup weekend

The QBCore recipe, database included

Setting up QBCore by hand means installing FXServer, creating a MySQL database, importing its tables and pasting connection strings into server.cfg. Here, every FiveM server comes with its own MySQL database, and txAdmin recipes get its host, port, user, password and name prefilled.

Open txAdmin from the card on your panel's Overview tab, enter the setup PIN shown there, sign in with your Cfx.re account and pick QBCore under the recipes. Let it run, start the server, and join with F8 and connect plus your address.

What you get on day one

The recipe drops in qb-core with its family of qb resources, plus oxmysql, pma-voice for proximity voice and PolyZone. That is a playable city with jobs, gangs, housing, garages, shops, robberies and police and EMS.

Jobs, items, vehicles and gangs live in plain Lua tables in qb-core/shared: jobs.lua, items.lua, vehicles.lua and gangs.lua. Edit them in the Files tab or over SFTP, restart, and your changes are live. QBCore has the biggest pool of tutorials and the most paid scripts that list it by name, so there is help for nearly anything you want to add.

Prefer the ox stack? Qbox is one recipe away

Qbox started as a fork of QBCore and ships ox_inventory, ox_target and ox_lib in place of the older qb defaults. Its bridge runs most QBCore scripts without changes. It sits next to QBCore in the same txAdmin recipe list.

Not sure which you want? Press Backup in the panel, deploy one recipe, walk around, then restore and try the other. Switching later is painful, because characters, inventories and vehicles are stored differently, so this is the cheap moment to decide.

Sized for a QBCore city

A QBCore server with a normal script pack and up to 32 players runs comfortably on the Standard plan: 8 GB of RAM for $19.99 a month. Testing the framework with a few friends fits Starter at 4 GB. What pushes you to 12 or 16 GB is not QBCore itself but what you add on top, like hundreds of custom cars and MLO interiors.

You bring one thing: a free license key from portal.cfx.re, which starts with cfxk_ and allows up to 48 players. Paste it at checkout and it is filled into the server for you.

How to join your FiveM server

  1. 1

Install FiveM from fivem.net on a PC that owns Grand Theft Auto V, and start it once so it can set itself up.

  2. 2

Press F8 in the FiveM main menu to open the console.

  3. 3

Type connect 203.0.113.24:30120 and press Enter.

  4. 4

Wait for the server's files to download the first time. Once your server is in the FiveM server list, friends can also search for My FiveM Server.

Common problems

Server is not in the list yet

Connecting with F8 and connect 203.0.113.24:30120 always works. A new server can take a while to appear in the FiveM server list, and it only shows while the server is started in txAdmin.

Stuck downloading or "Couldn't load resource"

Big roleplay servers download hundreds of megabytes on the first join. Let it finish. If it keeps failing, clear the FiveM cache (the data folder's cache, server-cache and server-cache-priv folders) and join again.

Your GTA V must be up to date

FiveM needs a legal, up to date copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC from Steam, Epic Games or Rockstar Games. Story mode does not need to be finished.

Server not responding

Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.

Use the server address

Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.

No port forwarding or firewall changes

Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.

Common questions

Can I run QBCore on my server?

Yes. Choose the txAdmin server type, open txAdmin from your panel and pick the QBCore recipe. It downloads the framework and sets up the server for you.

Do I have to set up the database myself?

No. Every FiveM server comes with its own MySQL database, and txAdmin recipes get its details filled in. You can see them under Settings for your own scripts or a tool like HeidiSQL.

Where do I get a license key?

Free from portal.cfx.re. Sign in with your Cfx.re account, open Server Keys and generate one. It starts with cfxk_. Paste it at checkout.

Should I pick QBCore or Qbox?

QBCore if you follow QBCore tutorials or own scripts that only list QBCore. Qbox if you want ox_inventory and ox_target while still running most QBCore scripts through its bridge.

How many players can join a QBCore server?

Up to 48, the most a free Cfx.re license key allows. Standard with 8 GB suits up to 32 players with a normal script pack.

Can I upload my existing QBCore server?

Yes. Upload your resources and server.cfg in the Files tab or over SFTP, then point txAdmin at the folder with your server.cfg.

Do I need a license key?

Yes. Every FiveM server needs a free license key from the Cfx.re portal (portal.cfx.re). Sign in with your Cfx.re account, open Server Keys, generate one and paste it at checkout. You can change it later in Settings.

Can I run QBCore, Qbox or ESX?

Yes. Choose the txAdmin server type, open txAdmin from your panel and pick a recipe. It downloads the framework and sets up the server for you.

How many players can join?

Up to 48, which is the most a free Cfx.re license key allows. Plans are sized by RAM, so pick more memory for heavy scripts and maps rather than more slots.

Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
