Frozen Flame Server Disconnects After 30 Seconds? EasyAntiCheat Fix
Kicked from a Frozen Flame dedicated server after 20 to 30 seconds? It is EasyAntiCheat. Check the EOS log line, launch with EAC on both sides, or use -noeac.

If players join a Frozen Flame dedicated server and get disconnected after 20 to 30 seconds, the cause is EasyAntiCheat: either the server is not running with EAC, or the player launched the game without it. Dreamside's own server FAQ says to check the end of the server log for LogEOSAnalytics: Start Session (User: ...) right after start. If that line is there, the server has EAC and players must launch the game with EasyAntiCheat. If it is missing, players can only play on that server by starting the game without EAC, and the server needs the -noeac flag.
The timing is the giveaway. A port or password problem stops you at the door. A kick after half a minute of normal play is the anti cheat handshake failing.

Why it happens
Frozen Flame uses EasyAntiCheat through Epic Online Services. When you join, you are let in, then the anti cheat session has a short window to confirm on both sides. If the server and the client disagree about whether EAC is active, the session never confirms and the server drops the player. Both sides have to match:
| Server | Player launch option | Result |
|---|---|---|
| EAC running | With EasyAntiCheat | Works |
| EAC running | Without EasyAntiCheat | Kicked after about 30 seconds |
-noeac |
Without EasyAntiCheat | Works |
-noeac |
With EasyAntiCheat | Not the documented setup. Launch without EAC to match |
Step 1: Check the server log
Start the server with -log and let it finish loading. Then look at the last lines of the log for:
LogEOSAnalytics: Start Session (User: ...)
- Line present: EAC is active on the server. Go to Step 2.
- Line missing: the server could not start its EOS session. Go to Step 3.
Step 2: Make players launch with EasyAntiCheat
When you press Play on Frozen Flame in Steam, it offers launch options. One starts the game with EasyAntiCheat, the other without. A player who picked the second option once may keep using it.
- Close the game completely.
- Press Play in Steam and choose the option with EasyAntiCheat.
- If EAC itself is broken, verify the game files: right click Frozen Flame, Properties, Installed Files, Verify integrity of game files. That also repairs a damaged EAC install.
Ask the player to rejoin. If they stay past the minute mark, that was it.
Step 3: When the server has no EAC session
Several things stop the server from starting its EOS session:
- The machine cannot reach Epic's services. A strict firewall blocking outbound connections from the server will do it. Allow outbound traffic for the server executable.
- Steam is missing on the host. Dreamside's FAQ notes Steam may also be required. Installing the regular Steam client on the server machine once, and letting it update, is also their fix for servers that crash after the tutorial.
- An outdated server build. Update with SteamCMD and validate:
steamcmd +force_install_dir "C:\servers\frozenflame" +login anonymous +app_update 1348640 validate +quit
Restart and check the log again for the Start Session line.
Step 4: Run without EasyAntiCheat
If you cannot get EAC working on the server, Dreamside documents a fallback: start the server with -noeac, and have every player launch the game without EasyAntiCheat (the second option when pressing Play). A full launch line:
FrozenFlameServer.exe -log -MetaGameServerName="Ember Keep" -Port=7777 -queryPort=25575 -RconPort=27015 -RconPassword=yourpassword -noeac
This only makes sense for a private server among friends. Without anti cheat, anyone who can reach the server can cheat, so keep a password on it.
Not the disconnect you have?
| Symptom | Likely cause |
|---|---|
| Cannot connect at all | Port 7777 (UDP and TCP) closed, or wrong address |
| Server not in the public list | Missing [URL] lines in Engine.ini. Add the server by address under Private Server instead |
| Wrong password message | ServerPassword in Game.ini must be in quotes |
| Server crashes after the tutorial | Install the Steam client on the host |
| Kicked after 20 to 30 seconds | EasyAntiCheat mismatch, this page |
Our Frozen Flame hosting guide covers ports, Game.ini and Engine.ini in full.
Is it worth the trouble?
Frozen Flame's development is paused while Dreamside works through publishing rights with Ravenage, and the studio says the game is not abandoned and that a lot of new content is already prepared. The game and its dedicated server still work today. For a group that enjoys it, a stable private server is the best way to keep playing, as long as you back up the world before any patch lands.

On a hosted server
A GamezServers Frozen Flame server runs the server build with auto update on, ports assigned on a fixed address, and the live console in the panel, so checking for the LogEOSAnalytics: Start Session line takes seconds after a restart. If the line is there, the fix is on the player side (Step 2). If it is missing, email support@gamezservers.com with the time of the restart and we will look at it with you. The RCON password is set in the panel too, and our Frozen Flame RCON commands list covers kicking, banning and restoring items once everyone is in.
FAQ
Why do I get kicked from my Frozen Flame server after 30 seconds?
EasyAntiCheat does not match between you and the server. Launch the game with EasyAntiCheat if the server runs it, or without it if the server uses -noeac.
How do I know if my Frozen Flame server runs EasyAntiCheat?
Look at the end of the server log after start for LogEOSAnalytics: Start Session (User: ...).
Can I run a Frozen Flame server without anti cheat?
Yes. Start the server with -noeac. Every player then has to launch the game without EasyAntiCheat.
Does the server need Steam installed?
Dreamside's FAQ says Steam might be required, and installing the Steam client on the host is their fix for crashes after the tutorial.
