Is Enshrouded Crossplay? PC, PS5 and Xbox at 1.0 (2026)

Enshrouded is not crossplay at its 1.0 launch on 15 October 2026. PC and PS5 players cannot share a world, and a Steam dedicated server only takes PC players. Keen Games said in July 2026 that crossplay would not be ready for 1.0 and has given no date. Xbox is planned for spring 2027.

Is Enshrouded cross platform?

Not for playing together. As of 3 October 2026:

Keen Games revealed the 1.0 date in a Steam post on 25 June 2026, and the PS5 and Xbox timing was reported by Gematsu from the same announcement. Crossplay was not part of either. In an interview with Eurogamer.de, Keen's technical director said crossplay would not be ready for 1.0, and that it is something they want to add later.

Why doesn't Enshrouded have crossplay yet?

Keen Games runs Enshrouded on its own engine, and every platform has to be ported and optimized by hand. In the same interview the team described the Xbox delay as mainly a question of manpower. Crossplay also needs shared accounts, matchmaking and a way for console players to reach servers, which takes time on top of the port itself.

Keen has said it wants to add crossplay later but has given no date, so treat any date you see elsewhere as a guess.

Can PS5 players join an Enshrouded dedicated server?

No. The Enshrouded dedicated server is a Steam application (app ID 2278520), and every player who joins it today is on PC. PS5 players play in their own sessions, hosted from a console. Keen has not announced dedicated servers for PlayStation.

That matters if your group is split. If half of you buy 1.0 on PS5 and half on Steam, you will be in separate worlds on launch day. Pick one platform for the whole group if you want to play together now.

How many players can play Enshrouded together?

Up to 16 on PC with a dedicated server, which is the game's limit. Keen's 1.0 announcement for the console launch describes co-op for up to eight players. Our Enshrouded how many players guide breaks down RAM and plans by group size.

What should a mixed PC and console group do?

• Pick one platform for now. Playing on Steam gives you dedicated servers, 16 player worlds and a world that stays online when the host logs off.
• Wait for crossplay if your console players do not want to switch. Keep an eye on Keen's Steam news for an announcement.
• Do not count on moving a world between Steam and PS5. Keen has not announced any way to transfer saves between platforms.

Will Enshrouded get crossplay with Xbox?

Not announced. The Xbox Series X|S version is planned for spring 2027. Whether it will launch with crossplay to PC or PS5 has not been confirmed.

Which platform should you buy Enshrouded on in 2026?

If you want to play with a group, Steam is the safer pick until crossplay arrives:

PS5 is a fine choice if everyone in your group is on PlayStation and someone is happy to host. The comparison only matters when your friends are split across platforms.

What this means for your server

Hosting Enshrouded for a PC group

A dedicated server is still the best way for a PC group to share one world: nobody has to host, anyone can log in to farm or build whenever they like, and the world is there when the host is not.
