How to join your Nightingale server
- 1
Launch Nightingale, select Play and choose your character.
- 2
Choose Join a Game and set the connection type to IP/LAN.
- 3
Enter
203.0.113.24as the IP and {port} as the port. - 4
Enter {CONNECTION_PASSWORD} if you set one, then join.
Common problems
The IP/LAN screen wants the address and port in separate boxes. Don't paste ip:port into one field.
Changing Difficulty only affects the starting map difficulty. Restart the server after changing it.
After a game update, restart the server so auto update pulls the new build before anyone tries to join.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Nightingale server hosting, explained
Nightingale is a gaslamp fantasy survival crafting game from Inflexion Games. You travel through portals into the Faewilds, gather and craft, fight creatures and bosses, glide with an umbrella, and build an estate that grows from a shack into a Victorian manor. The Realms Rebuilt update reworked progression, combat and building, and the game is now playable offline and on self hosted servers as well as online.
Co-op is for up to six players sharing the same world. With a dedicated server the world runs on its own, so friends can keep exploring and building after you log off instead of waiting for the host to be online. That suits small groups who play at different times and want the estate to be a shared project rather than one person's save.
The panel gives you max players, starting difficulty, a connection password to keep strangers out, an admin password for kicking and banning in game, auto update. The server config file is in the file manager too, and one click backups give you a restore point before a big build or a risky Realm. Sleep when empty is optional if your group plays in bursts.
Nightingale is a modern Unreal Engine 5 game with big open Realms and detailed building, so memory use is real. Two or three players are comfortable on 8 GB. A full group of six with a large estate fits 12 GB. If your six players spread out across many Realms at once, 16 GB gives the most headroom. We don't recommend running it on less than 8 GB.

Common questions
How many players can join a Nightingale server?
Six is the supported co-op limit and the default in our panel. You can set up to 8, but going past 6 is unsupported and may cause problems.
How do I connect to a Nightingale dedicated server?
Select Play, pick your character and choose Join a Game. Set the connection type to IP/LAN, enter the IP and port separately, and add the password if one is set.
Why use a dedicated server instead of hosting from my PC?
A dedicated server keeps the world online when the host logs off. Hosting from your own PC only works while your game is running.
Can I change the difficulty later?
Yes. Change the Difficulty setting in the panel and restart. It sets the starting map difficulty.
How do I kick or ban someone?
Set an admin password in the panel. Players who enter it in game can kick and ban others.
Can I bring my existing world?
Yes. On a new, empty server, the first character to connect has their realms imported, so the realm owner should join first. See the guide to moving a Nightingale realm to a dedicated server for the details.
Can I run a beta build?
Email support@gamezservers.com with the branch name and we switch the server to it. Players must be on the same branch.
Does Nightingale support mods?
There is no official mod support, so plan on running the game as Inflexion ships it.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Nightingale?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Nightingale server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
