To install mods on a Path of Titans server, stop the server, open PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/<OS>Server/GameUserSettings.ini and add one EnabledMods="UGC_M_XXXXXXXXXX_SK" line per mod under a [PathOfTitans.Mods] header. For a mod map, also set ServerMap=<MapName> under [/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession] in Game.ini, spelled exactly as the mod says. Start the server and it downloads every mod itself. Players get the mods on join, as long as their platform supports them.

What you are working with

Path of Titans mods are not Steam Workshop items. They are creator mods hosted on mod.io and installed through the game's own mod system, so you never upload mod files yourself. You only list IDs.

Thing What it is
Mod ID The mod's identifier, like UGC_M_DYV7XYEGX2_SK. Shown in the game's mod list.
GameUserSettings.ini Holds the [PathOfTitans.Mods] section with your EnabledMods lines.
Game.ini Holds ServerMap for a mod map, plus your password, whitelist and admins.
Creature, skin and Creator Mode mods Stack with each other. Add as many as you like.
Stat mods Stack only if they do not edit the same creature.
Map mods Do not stack. One map at a time.

Where the config files are

Server GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini
Windows PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/WindowsServer/
Linux PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/
GamezServers server/PathOfTitans/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/ in the Files tab

The files appear after the server has started once. If they are missing, start and stop the server first.

Step 1: Find each mod's ID

  1. Launch Path of Titans and open the Mods list from the main menu.
  2. Select the mod and read its ID from the details panel. It starts with UGC_M_ and ends with _SK.
  3. Copy it exactly. Alderon's hosting guide warns that a zero (0) typed as the letter O is a common reason a mod never appears.

For a map mod, the mod page or description also gives the map's internal name, for example TheGrimExpanse. You need that too.

Step 2: Stop the server and add EnabledMods lines

Stop the server so it does not overwrite your edit, then open GameUserSettings.ini and add:

[PathOfTitans.Mods]
EnabledMods="UGC_M_DYV7XYEGX2_SK"
EnabledMods="UGC_M_SECONDMODID_SK"

One line per mod, all under the same header. If the header already exists, add your lines below it rather than creating a second one.

Step 3: Set ServerMap for a mod map

Skip this for creature and skin mods. For a map mod, open Game.ini and add the map name under the game session section:

[/Script/PathOfTitans.IGameSession]
ServerMap=TheGrimExpanse

The name must match the mod files exactly, including capitals. The map's mod ID still goes in GameUserSettings.ini as in Step 2. On GamezServers, set Server Map in the panel to the same name, so the launch line and the ini agree.

Step 4: Start and wait

Start the server and watch the console. On every boot it checks each mod and downloads the newest version, so the first start after adding a big map mod is slow. Alderon's common issues page suggests a restart and a 10 to 15 minute wait if a map mod is still downloading.

The gotcha: mods can lock out mobile and console players

Path of Titans is fully crossplay, and that is exactly what a mod can break. Alderon's mod setup guide notes that some map mods are too graphically heavy for phones, and once one is enabled, mobile players cannot join your server at all. Most creature and skin mods work on mobile, but many map mods do not, and some mods are PC only.

Before you enable anything:

  • Check the mod page for platform support.
  • Ask your community which platforms they play on. A server full of Switch and phone players should stay off heavy map mods.
  • Add one mod at a time and test a join from each platform you care about.

The server log will not warn you. Players on unsupported platforms simply cannot connect, and it looks like a network problem.

Do players need to install mods?

No. When a player joins a modded server, the game downloads and installs the server's mods for them, as Alderon describes in its modding and community servers post. The first join takes longer while big mods download.

Common problems

  • Server loads Panjura instead of the mod map: the map's mod ID is missing from GameUserSettings.ini, or ServerMap is spelled differently from the mod files. Fix both and restart.
  • A mod never shows up in game: check the ID for a zero typed as the letter O, and check the mod still exists. A recent game update can also break a mod until its author updates it.
  • Edits disappear after starting: you edited the ini while the server was running. Stop, edit, start.
  • Mobile or Switch players cannot connect: a mod does not support their platform. Remove it, or accept a PC only server.
  • Two map mods, neither works: map mods do not stack. Keep one.

Mods on GamezServers

On a Path of Titans server from GamezServers, both ini files are open in the Files tab, so adding a mod is an edit and a restart. Press Backup before adding a mod map in case you want to roll back. Your Alderon hosting token, GUID and map live in the panel, and the server stays up for your herd without anyone's PC. New to it? Start with how to host a Path of Titans server.

FAQ

Where do I find a Path of Titans mod ID?

In the game's Mods list from the main menu. Select a mod and its ID, starting with UGC_M_, is shown in the details.

Do players have to download mods to join?

No. The game downloads the server's mods automatically when a player connects.

Can I run two map mods at once?

No. Map mods do not stack, so a server runs one map at a time. Creature, skin and Creator Mode mods do stack.

Why can't mobile players join my modded server?

Some mods, especially map mods, do not support phones. Once one is enabled, mobile players cannot join until you remove it.
