How to join your The Front server
- 1
Launch The Front and open the server list from the main menu.
- 2
Switch to the dedicated servers tab and search for your server's name.
- 3
Select it, press Join and enter the password from your panel if you set one.
Common problems
Keep the save file name simple. The Config Name setting cannot have spaces or symbols, and changing it later starts a new world.
Players on a newer game build cannot join an older server. Turn on Auto Update and restart after each patch.
Server tags only describe your server in the list. Add them in the panel by number, up to 5, to show PvE, wipe schedule or rates.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
The Front server hosting, explained
The Front is Samar Studio's open world survival game. You play a resistance fighter sent back in time to stop an empire before it rises. You gather resources, research tech, build fortified bases and fight monsters, imperial forces and other players across a large shared map. It left Early Access with its full release in October 2025, and it is built for big servers where clans claim land, raid and make deals.
Official servers come with fixed rules and fixed wipes, and that is the main reason to run your own. A clan can keep a long running PvP world, a group of friends can play PvE without being raided at 3 in the morning, and a community can pick a wipe schedule that suits its players. With your own server, the rules are yours.
The panel covers the server name, password, max players up to 80, PvE mode, self damage, friendly fire, novice protection, save interval, admins by Steam ID, an admin label, anticheat, the chat filter and server tags for the list. Config Name picks the save, so you can keep several worlds side by side. Deeper settings are in the config files in the file manager.
This is one of the heavier survival servers. The map, structures and AI all sit in memory, and usage climbs as bases spread. Plan on 8 GB for a clan or friend group, 12 GB for a community of a few dozen, and 16 GB if you push toward 80 players or keep one world going for months. Change plans in the panel any time, and a clan can split the bill between up to 10 members.

Common questions
How many players can a The Front server hold?
From 1 to 80, set with Max Players in the panel. It starts at 10, so raise it before you open the server to a community.
Can I run a PvE server?
Yes. Turn the PvE setting on in the panel and restart. Leave it off for full PvP.
How do I make myself an admin?
Put your 17 digit Steam ID in Server Admins, with a semicolon between IDs for more admins, and restart. Admins get the highest GM level.
How do players find my server?
In the server list in game, on the dedicated servers tab. Search for your server name and join, with the password if you set one.
Can I keep more than one world?
Yes. The Config Name setting names the save. Change it to start a new world and change it back to return to the old one.
How often does the server save?
Every 300 seconds by default. Set the save interval anywhere from 150 to 600 seconds in the panel.
Is The Front still in Early Access?
No. The game had its full release in October 2025 and still gets updates, so keep Auto Update on.
How much RAM does The Front need?
More than most survival games. Start at 8 GB for a small group and move to 12 or 16 GB as players and bases grow.
Is GamezServers affiliated with The Front?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated The Front server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
