Common problems
Joining players need the same Workshop mods as the server. When the server runs mods, the game asks them to subscribe before they can enter.
GameXishu.json only appears after the first full start. Start the server once, stop it, then edit the file.
Memory creeps up the longer Soulmask runs. A scheduled restart from the panel every day or two keeps it smooth.
Use Connect to the server directly with 203.0.113.24 if the server list is slow to show your server after a restart.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Soulmask server hosting, explained
Soulmask is a survival game where an ancient mask lets you lead, and even possess, members of your tribe. You start alone after escaping a sacrifice, then recruit tribespeople, give them jobs, and grow a camp into an automated settlement while fighting across a large ancient world. Version 1.0 arrived in April 2026, and one server can hold up to 70 players, so it scales from a friend group to a community of rival tribes.
Your tribe keeps working while you are away, which only makes sense if the world stays up. A dedicated server keeps settlements, recruits and progress persistent, and nobody's PC has to stay on. PvE servers are popular with groups who want to build big and fight bosses together. PvP servers turn tribes against each other, with raids and territory fights.
Our panel covers the server name, join and admin passwords, max players, how often the world saves and backs up, and auto updates. The Extra Arguments field takes the game's launch options, which is where you choose PvE or PvP and list Workshop mods. Deeper rules, from harvest rates to tribesman behavior, live in GameXishu.json in the file manager. The admin password unlocks the in-game GM panel.
Be realistic about this one: Soulmask is among the heaviest servers we host. It commonly sits around 11 to 12 GB soon after starting and climbs as the world fills with buildings and NPC tribespeople. 12 GB suits a small group, 16 GB is right for a regular group or a small public server, and 24 GB is for busy servers with 30 or more players and mods.

Common questions
How many players can join a Soulmask server?
Up to 70. Our setup starts at 60 and you can set 1 to 70 in the panel, but memory is the real limit, so most groups should set a lower cap.
How do I connect to a Soulmask server by IP?
Open Online Game and click Connect to the server directly at the bottom. Enter the IP and port, then the password if there is one.
How do I switch between PvE and PvP?
Add -pve or -pvp to the Extra Arguments field in our panel and restart the server.
Can I add mods to a Soulmask server?
Yes. Soulmask supports Steam Workshop mods. Add -mod="ID1,ID2" with the Workshop IDs to Extra Arguments and restart; players must subscribe to the same mods.
How do I use admin commands?
Set an Admin Password in the panel. In game, open the console and type gm key followed by that password to unlock the GM panel.
Where do I change harvest rates and XP?
In GameXishu.json in the server's saved settings folder. Stop the server, edit the file, and start it again.
Which map does the server run?
Our setup runs the original Cloud Mist Forest map. Check with support before planning a server around a different map.
How much RAM does a Soulmask server need?
At least 12 GB for a small group and 16 GB for anything regular. Memory use rises the longer the server runs, so restart it now and then.
Is GamezServers affiliated with Soulmask?
No. You rent and control your own dedicated Soulmask server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
