The cheapest Palworld server that will not crash
Pay less by splitting it and sizing it right, not by starving it of RAM.
The cheapest way to run a Palworld dedicated server with us is the 12 GB Starter plan: $29.99 a month for up to 8 players, $7.50 prepaid for 3 days, or about $4.75 each when 8 friends split it. Palworld needs a lot of memory, so we do not sell a plan smaller than that.

Where the savings really come from
How much RAM does Palworld actually need?
More than most games. Pocketpair's server guide lists 16 GB, with 32 GB recommended for the most stable server, and warns that 8 GB can boot but crashes more often. Every Pal at every base keeps working while players are offline, late game bases hold thousands of objects, and the server holds more memory the longer it runs.
Running out causes crashes and rollbacks, so a plan that is too small costs you progress. That is why our smallest Palworld plan is 12 GB, sized for a small group of up to 8, and why most worlds belong on Standard with 16 GB and 16 players for $39.99.
The cheapest ways to pay
Trying it for a weekend? Prepay 3 days on Starter for $7.50 and nothing renews. Short rentals cost more per day because every server is built from scratch, but the total is the smallest number we offer.
Staying longer? A monthly subscription is $29.99, and new customers get 50% off your first month, so the first month is $14.99. A year costs $239.92, which is 8 months for 12. There is no contract on any of them, and you can cancel from your dashboard.
Split it and Palworld gets cheap
Splitting the bill is the biggest saving. Choose to split with friends at checkout and each person pays an even share by their own card, plus a $1 payment fee per share. Starter split 4 ways is about $8.50 each a month, and 8 ways about $4.75 each. The server starts as soon as the first share is paid, and every length can be split, even the 3 day rental.
Keep a smaller server healthy
A few settings stretch 12 GB further. Turning off Raids lowers memory use. Keep Pals per base sensible, because more Pals use more memory and CPU. Leave Auto restart on: it saves and restarts with a two minute warning every 8 hours by default, or early at 90% memory, which clears Palworld's known memory leak before it slows the world down.
If bases outgrow the plan, upgrade to 16 GB from the dashboard and keep the same world. Crossplay with Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players is the same on every plan.

Common problems
Include the port
Type the whole address, including the colon and the number after it.
Version mismatch
The server updates itself every time it starts. After a Palworld patch, restart the server and update the game on every device.
Settings went back
Settings from the panel are written into PalWorldSettings.ini on every start. Change those in the panel, and stop the server before editing anything else in the file.
Server not responding
Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.
Use the server address
Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.
No port forwarding or firewall changes
Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.
Common questions
How much does a Palworld server cost?
Palworld servers start at $7.50 for 3 days, with no subscription. Monthly plans are 12 GB for up to 4 players at $29.99, 16 GB for up to 8 players at $39.99 and 24 GB for up to 16 players at $59.99. Pay monthly or prepaid, split the bill with friends, and cancel any time.
What is the cheapest Palworld server?
Our Starter plan: 12 GB for up to 8 players at $29.99 a month, or $7.50 prepaid for 3 days. Split 8 ways it is about $4.75 each a month.
Why not sell an 8 GB Palworld server?
Pocketpair warns that 8 GB can boot but crashes more often, and crashes mean rollbacks. We would rather start at 12 GB than sell a plan that loses your progress.
Is 12 GB enough?
For a small group of up to 8 with normal bases, yes. Pocketpair lists 16 GB for a server, and most worlds are best on Standard with 16 GB.
Can friends split the cost?
Yes. Each friend pays an even share from a link, plus a $1 fee per share. The server starts when the first share is paid.
Is there a contract?
No. Prepaid rentals never renew, and subscriptions cancel from your dashboard any time.
Can I host Palworld for free?
Co-op is free but capped at 4 players, and the world closes when the host logs off. The free dedicated server on your own PC needs about 16 GB of RAM free and port 8211 forwarded.
How many players can join?
Up to 32, set by your plan. Pocketpair's guide lists 16 GB as the base for a server, and big late game bases feel best on 24 GB.
Can I move my co-op world over?
Yes, with a little work. Stop the server, upload your world folder into Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/ and set DedicatedServerName in GameUserSettings.ini to that folder name. The host of the co-op game gets a new character on a server, and a community save tool can move the old one over. Take a backup first.
Does Palworld crossplay work on a dedicated server?
Yes. Since the crossplay update in 2025, Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players can join the same server. Console players cannot enter an IP, so the server needs to be listed in the community server list for them.
Can my friends and I split the cost?
Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.
Can I build a custom plan?
Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.
Can I pay once instead of a subscription?
Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.
How fast is setup, really?
Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
