Citadel: Forged with Fire admin commands are typed in the in game chat with a leading slash. Log in first with /admin_login <password>, using the admin password from the [/Script/Citadel.SocialManager] section of the server's Game.ini. After that you can use /server_kick, /ban, /teleport, /settime, /givexp, /giveitem and the rest of the list below. Admin rights last for your session, so log in again after you reconnect.

Where the admin password comes from

A Citadel dedicated server has two passwords in Game.ini, and they do different jobs:

[/Script/Citadel.SocialManager]
Password=YourAdminPassword

[/Script/Citadel.CitadelGameInstance]
WorldCreationSettings=(ServerName="Ignus",Password="JoinPassword", ...)
  • The Password under SocialManager is the admin password. This is what /admin_login checks.
  • The Password inside WorldCreationSettings is the join password players type to enter the server.

Change either one with the server stopped, then start it. The server writes Game.ini back on shutdown, so edits made while it runs can be lost. If you do not have a server yet, start with how to host a Citadel server.

Logging in

  1. Join your server as normal.
  2. Open the chat box.
  3. Type the login command with your admin password:
/admin_login YourAdminPassword

Some command lists also mention /iamgod as an alternative login. /admin_login is the one to rely on.

Treat the admin password like a key to the world. Anyone with it can delete characters and ban your clanmates. Share it with co-admins only, and change it if someone leaves on bad terms.

Account and admin management

Command What it does
/admin_login <password> Logs you in as admin for this session
/admin_update <new password> Changes the admin password
/admin_delete <player> Deletes that player's character from the server
/whois <player> Shows information about a player, including their Steam ID, even when offline

/admin_delete (listed as /wipe in some references) is permanent. Use it on abandoned characters or griefers, and take a backup first if there is any doubt.

/admin_update changes the password the running server checks. Update Game.ini to match afterwards so it survives a restart, otherwise the old password can come back.

Kicking and banning

Command What it does
/server_kick <player> <reason> Removes a player. They can rejoin
/ban <player> <reason> Removes a player and stops them rejoining
/server_unban <player> or /unban <player> Lifts a ban

Always give a reason. It shows to the player and helps the next admin understand what happened. For a clan server, agree on rules first: kick for a first offence, ban for griefing or cheating. Kicks cost nothing and solve most problems.

World and player tools

Command What it does
/teleport <latitude> <longitude> Moves you to a map coordinate
/settime <time of day> Sets the server's time of day
/givexp <amount> Gives you experience
/giveitem <item name> <amount> Gives you an item
/snapshot or /statdump Writes a snapshot of the world state to the server log, including actor counts

Notes from running these:

  • /teleport uses the latitude and longitude shown on the map, not world coordinates. Useful for checking a griefing report without walking across Ignus.
  • /settime is the quick fix when a raid or event night falls in the dark. For a permanent change, TimeOfDayLock in WorldCreationSettings controls the day cycle.
  • /givexp and /giveitem are for fixing problems, such as replacing gear lost to a bug. Handing them out freely flattens the progression that makes Citadel worth playing.
  • /snapshot is the admin tool people forget. If the server gets slow as castles go up, the dump shows how many actors the world is carrying, which tells you whether the lag comes from sheer size.

Older lists include /fly and /flightspeed. Several references mark them as removed, so do not count on them.

Commands versus Game.ini

Commands change the live world. Rules belong in Game.ini. If you find yourself giving everyone XP every evening, raise ExperienceMultiplier instead. If raids flatten castles too fast, lower StructureDamageMultiplier. If old abandoned keeps clutter the map, raise StructureDecayMultiplier. Config changes are fair to everyone and survive restarts, commands do neither.

You keep doing this Change this in Game.ini
Giving players XP ExperienceMultiplier
Spawning resources ResourceCollectionMultiplier
Rebuilding raided walls StructureDamageMultiplier
Deleting abandoned castles StructureDecayMultiplier, bThronesDecay
Fixing the time for events TimeOfDayLock

Good admin habits for a small server

  • Back up before deleting or banning. A one line command can wipe a character that took weeks. Copy the save folder first, or use a proper backup routine.
  • Keep a log. Write down who was kicked or banned and why, in your Discord or a shared note. Citadel's own logging is thin.
  • Two admins, not ten. Every extra person with the password is another way it leaks.
  • Use Steam IDs. /whois gives you the Steam ID, which stays the same if a player renames.

Admin on a hosted server

On a GamezServers Citadel: Forged with Fire server, the admin password is a setting in the control panel and is written into Game.ini for you each time the server starts, so it never drifts out of sync. You log in with /admin_login the same way. The live console in the panel shows who connects, and one click backups give you an undo button before you delete a character or test a new set of multipliers. If more than one person runs the clan, you can split the server bill between up to 10 players.

FAQ

How do I become admin on a Citadel server?

Type /admin_login followed by the admin password in chat. The password is the Password line under [/Script/Citadel.SocialManager] in Game.ini.

Why does /admin_login say the password is wrong?

You are probably using the join password from WorldCreationSettings. The admin password is the separate SocialManager one. Also check you did not edit Game.ini while the server was running.

Can I unban a player in Citadel?

Yes, with /server_unban <player> or /unban <player> while logged in as admin.

How do I change the time of day on my server?

Use /settime as admin for a one off change, or set TimeOfDayLock in Game.ini to control it permanently.
