How to join your V Rising server

Launch V Rising, click Play and choose Online Play.

Click Find Servers, then tick Display all Servers & Settings.

Click Direct Connect, enter 203.0.113.24 and click Connect.

Type the password from your panel if the server has one. The game remembers the server under your recent servers.

Common problems

Can't see the server in the list? Open Online Play, tick Display all Servers & Settings, then use Direct Connect with the address instead of waiting for the browser.

To become admin, add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt in the save-data Settings folder, restart, then type adminauth in the game console (turn the console on under Options > General first).

After a game patch, BepInEx plugins can stop the server from booting. Update the plugins to builds for the current game version, or switch back to the Standard type until they are fixed.

Changing the preset on a running world changes the rules for everyone. Make a backup first, then restart so the new settings load.

Server not responding

Make sure the server is online. Servers sleep after 4 days with nobody playing, and anyone with access can start them again from the dashboard in one click.

Use the server address

Do not use localhost, 127.0.0.1 or your own IP from a home hosting guide. Copy the exact address of the server.

No port forwarding or firewall changes

Opening ports on your router is only for hosting a server at home, so there is nothing to change to join this one. If Windows asks whether to let the game through the firewall, choose Allow.

Modding your V Rising server

V Rising server mods run on BepInEx with VampireCommandFramework, and almost all of them are on Thunderstore. Mods are server side, so players join a modded server without installing anything.

V Rising server hosting, explained

V Rising starts you as a starved vampire in a crypt and ends with you raiding Dracula's castle. In between you feed on villagers, kill V Blood bosses for new spells and build a castle whose heart needs blood to stay up. On a server the castle becomes the group project: one player farms stone and copper, another runs servant hunts, and someone always ends up redesigning the throne room. Stunlock has said the game is content complete, so the ruleset is stable and saves carry over between balance patches.

Servers split into two camps. PvE groups want a relaxed world where castles cannot be raided and bosses are the only threat. PvP clans want sieges, golem fights and loot raids, usually with clan size capped at two, three or four. The game ships presets for both, including daily, weekend and no siege variants, so a clan can keep raids to hours when people are actually online. The default slot count is 40 and the template allows up to 128.

In the panel you set the server name and description, password, game and difficulty preset (Easy, Normal or Brutal), save name, autosave interval and how many autosaves to keep, plus RCON and whether the server lists on Steam and Epic. Finer rules like blood drain, crafting speed and castle limits live in ServerGameSettings.json, which you can edit in the file manager. For mods, switch the server type to BepInEx and upload plugins with SFTP.

Move a V Rising server to a new host: copy the save from save-data/Saves/v4, the Settings files and adminlist.txt, then match SaveName and clear the preset.

Common questions

How many players can join a V Rising server?

The default is 40, and Max Connected Users in the panel goes up to 128. Clan size is a separate rule in the game settings, so you can run 40 slots with clans of four.

Does V Rising have crossplay between PC and PS5?

No. PC and PS5 players cannot share a server. Steam and Epic players on PC can, which is why the panel has separate List On Steam and List On Epic options.

How do I install mods on my V Rising server?

Switch the server type to V Rising BepInEx in the panel, then upload plugin DLLs into BepInEx/plugins with the file manager or SFTP. Most mods need VampireCommandFramework too, and players do not need to install anything.

How do I make myself admin?

Add your SteamID64 to adminlist.txt in the Settings folder of the save data, restart, enable the console in the game options and type adminauth. Admin commands then work from the console.

How do I switch between PvP and PvE?

Choose a different Game Settings Preset in the panel, for example StandardPvE or StandardPvP_WeekendSiege, and restart. For custom rules, edit ServerGameSettings.json in the file manager instead.

How do I wipe my V Rising server?

Change Save Name in the panel to start a fresh world, or delete the old save folder. Keep a backup if you might want the old castles back.

Is V Rising still getting updates?

Stunlock called the game complete in 2026 and is working on a new game in the same world. V Rising still gets balance and bug fix patches, and those do not reset existing saves.

Do I need to own V Rising to run a server?

No. The dedicated server is a free download that we install for you. Every player who joins needs their own copy of the game.

How much RAM does a V Rising server need?

A PvE group of friends runs well on 6 GB and most clan servers on 8 GB. Heavy BepInEx setups or a busy 40 player world should go for 12 GB or more.

Is GamezServers affiliated with V Rising?

No. You rent and control your own dedicated V Rising server. GamezServers is not affiliated with the game's developer or publisher.

Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
