Project Zomboid Workshop collection converter
A Project Zomboid server cannot load a collection link. Paste the link here and we read every item in it from Steam, list the Mod IDs each one contains, and write the WorkshopItems=, Mods= and Map= lines for your server ini, with the backslash Build 42 needs in front of every Mod ID.
How it works
We ask Steam for the collection's items (collections inside it too), then read the "Mod ID:" and "Map Folder:" lines from each item's description.
One Workshop item can hold several Mod IDs: a main mod plus optional variants. The main one starts ticked and the variants do not, because switching on every variant can break the server.
WorkshopItems lists every item so the server downloads them. Mods lists only what you tick, in the collection's order, which is the load order. Map folders go before Muldraugh, KY.
Example
A collection holding Vanilla vehicles animated (Workshop ID 3281755175) and Common Sense [B42.20+] (3750253491) gives WorkshopItems=3281755175;3750253491 and, on Build 42, Mods=\VanillaVehiclesAnimated;\VB_CommonSense. The first item also contains variants such as VVA_slowdoors, which stay off unless you tick them.
Questions
Why do my mods download but do nothing?
Their Mod IDs are missing from Mods=, or the Build 42 backslashes are missing. WorkshopItems only downloads; Mods switches them on.
Why is an item missing its Mod ID?
Its author did not write a "Mod ID:" line in the description. Open the item's Workshop page, or the mod.info file after subscribing, and add its id by hand.
Do players need to subscribe to the collection?
No. Players download exactly what the server lists when they join.
What if the author adds mods to the collection later?
Your server does not follow. Paste the link again and update the lines.
