Palworld server settings generator
Set the rates and rules you want and copy the result into PalWorldSettings.ini. Paste your current OptionSettings line first and we change only what you touch, keep every other setting, and repair the line if it is broken. A broken line, with a line break or a missing bracket, is the most common reason Palworld server settings do nothing.
Change a value or pick the small group settings to see what to write.
Stop the server, put the line under [/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings] in Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer/PalWorldSettings.ini (WindowsServer on Windows), keep it on one line, and start the server. On a GamezServers server, XP, capture rate, day and night speed, work speed, eggs, Pals per base, raids, death penalty and PvP are panel settings, so set those in Settings instead.
How it works
Palworld keeps every setting on one OptionSettings line under [/Script/Pal.PalGameWorldSettings]. Numbers use six decimals, switches are True or False, and settings are separated by commas.
With your line pasted, values you do not change stay exactly as they were, and settings you add go on the end. Without a line, you get just the values to change.
"Small group picks" sets what our settings guide recommends for 4 to 8 friends: double XP, faster eggs, items dropped but gear kept on death, and 20 Pals per base.
Example
Choosing double XP and a 4 hour egg time turns ExpRate=1.000000 into ExpRate=2.000000 and PalEggDefaultHatchingTime=72.000000 into PalEggDefaultHatchingTime=4.000000, leaving every other setting in the line untouched.
Questions
Where is PalWorldSettings.ini?
In Pal/Saved/Config/LinuxServer on Linux and Pal/Saved/Config/WindowsServer on Windows. If it is empty, copy the line from DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini in the server folder first. Editing DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini itself does nothing.
Why do my Palworld settings not change anything?
Usually the line is broken (a line break, a missing comma or bracket), the server was running while you edited, or a WorldOption.sav in the world folder overrides the file.
What is the best death penalty for friends?
Item: you drop your materials but keep your equipment and your Pals. All, the default, drops everything including your team Pals.
How many Pals per base is safe?
The maximum is 50, but every working Pal costs CPU and memory. Around 20 keeps a small server smooth.
