## About Palworld servers

A Palworld dedicated server is PalServer, a free program from Pocketpair installed through SteamCMD. In a normal co-op game the world only exists while the host is playing, and only a handful of friends can join. A dedicated server keeps Palpagos online around the clock, supports up to 32 players and keeps your base Pals working while everyone is offline.

Every world setting lives in PalWorldSettings.ini, which you normally create by copying DefaultPalWorldSettings.ini into the server config folder and editing by hand. That is where the server name and passwords, the player cap, XP and capture rates, day and night speed, death penalty and the crossplay platforms live. On our servers the common ones are settings in the panel, written into the file on every start. Since the crossplay update in 2025, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation 5 and Mac players can share one server, with console players finding it through the community server list.

Pocketpair's server guide lists 16 GB of memory, with 32 GB recommended for the most stable server, and warns that 8 GB can boot but crashes more often. Memory use grows as bases fill up with Pals and structures, and running out causes crashes and rollbacks. Fast SSD storage matters too, because slow disks can damage saves. Our plans start at 12 GB for small groups and go up to 24 GB for full servers, with backups a click away before every patch. The server also has a known memory leak that grows the longer it runs, so ours restarts itself with a two minute warning every few hours, or early when memory runs high.

## FAQ

### How much does a Palworld server cost?

Palworld servers start at $7.50 for 3 days, with no subscription. Monthly plans are 12 GB for up to 4 players at $29.99, 16 GB for up to 8 players at $39.99 and 24 GB for up to 16 players at $59.99. Pay monthly or prepaid, split the bill with friends, and cancel any time.

### What is the cheapest Palworld server?

Our Starter plan: 12 GB for up to 8 players at $29.99 a month, or $7.50 prepaid for 3 days. Split 8 ways it is about $4.75 each a month.

### Why not sell an 8 GB Palworld server?

Pocketpair warns that 8 GB can boot but crashes more often, and crashes mean rollbacks. We would rather start at 12 GB than sell a plan that loses your progress.

### Is 12 GB enough?

For a small group of up to 8 with normal bases, yes. Pocketpair lists 16 GB for a server, and most worlds are best on Standard with 16 GB.

### Can friends split the cost?

Yes. Each friend pays an even share from a link, plus a $1 fee per share. The server starts when the first share is paid.

### Is there a contract?

No. Prepaid rentals never renew, and subscriptions cancel from your dashboard any time.

### Can I host Palworld for free?

Co-op is free but capped at 4 players, and the world closes when the host logs off. The free dedicated server on your own PC needs about 16 GB of RAM free and port 8211 forwarded.

### How many players can join?

Up to 32, set by your plan. Pocketpair's guide lists 16 GB as the base for a server, and big late game bases feel best on 24 GB.

### Can I move my co-op world over?

Yes, with a little work. Stop the server, upload your world folder into Pal/Saved/SaveGames/0/ and set DedicatedServerName in GameUserSettings.ini to that folder name. The host of the co-op game gets a new character on a server, and a community save tool can move the old one over. Take a backup first.

### Does Palworld crossplay work on a dedicated server?

Yes. Since the crossplay update in 2025, Steam, Xbox, PS5 and Mac players can join the same server. Console players cannot enter an IP, so the server needs to be listed in the community server list for them.

### Can my friends and I split the cost?

Yes. At checkout choose "Me and my friends" and up to 10 people each pay their own share with their own card, on any plan length, from 3 days to a year. It is not a payment plan: nobody pays in parts over time, each friend simply pays their own share. You pay yours, send each friend their link, and the server starts straight away. Each share includes a $1 payment fee.

### Can I build a custom plan?

Yes. Every game has a Build your own page: pick any amount of RAM up to 32 GB, any length from 3 days to 1 year, prepaid or a subscription, plus your server type and settings. A custom size costs 15% more per GB than the standard plans next to it.

### Can I pay once instead of a subscription?

Yes. Pick Prepaid and pay once for 3 days, 30 days, 6 months or a year. Nothing renews: when the time is up the server pauses and keeps its world for 14 days. Add time or switch to a subscription from your panel any time. Short rentals cost more per day, since every server is set up from scratch.

### How fast is setup, really?

Your server starts building the moment Stripe confirms payment. Most are online in under a minute, and the address and login appear on your dashboard automatically.
